A Day in Liverpool

9:00 Breakfast at Rough Handmade Bakery on the Royal Albert Dock

Kickstart your day by taking in the historic surroundings of the Royal Albert Dock. With the largest collection of listed buildings anywhere in the country, this maritime attraction is home to museums, galleries, bars and restaurants. Why not stop for breakfast while you’re there? One of the best hidden gems in Liverpool is Rough Handmade Bakery; an independent boutique bakery with mouthwatering pastries freshly-made onsite each day.

Added bonus: you get 10% off with your bus tickets!

9:50 Liverpool City Sights Hop-On, Hop-Off Sightseeing City Tour

After breakfast, you can jump on one of our big, red, open-top buses from our stop at the Royal Albert Dock. This is the best way to see Liverpool! It is recommended that you stay on for the full trip to see and hear all about the amazing attractions and points of interest in Liverpool. This helps you to make yourself a Liverpool bucket-list for the duration of your stay. Then, hop-on and hop-off at your leisure!

11:00 Liverpool One and Cavern Quarter

Stop 4 on the Liverpool City sightseeing tour drops you between two major landmarks in the city:

1 Liverpool One, where you can shop ‘til you drop! With over 170 bars, stores, and restaurants, Liverpool One includes both your designer and high street favorites. This is THE place to get your shopping in Liverpool ever since its grand opening in 2008, which massively transformed the landscape of the city centre.

2 The Cavern Quarter, where you can connect with Liverpool’s musical heritage. Visit Mathew Street and the Cavern Club - the spiritual home of The Beatles. In the 1960s, Mathew Street was the heart and soul of the Merseybeat Music Scene… essentially sculpting pop music as we know it today!

Added bonus: you get 20% off at the Liverpool Beatles Museum with your bus tickets! Or, a free glass of bubbly (or soft drink) at Slug & Lettuce when you purchase any starter, main or dessert!

13:00 Lunching in style in Chavasse Park

Fancy a bite to eat in the early afternoon? Visit The Clubhouse in Chavasse Park on the top of Liverpool One, or just around the corner at Churrasco Steakhouse on Hanover Street.

Added bonus: you get 20% off at these restaurants with your bus tickets!

14:00 Visit the Cathedrals… we’ve got one to spare, after all!

Jump back on the big red bus and travel up to the Metropolitan Cathedral of Christ the King, known locally as “Paddy’s Wigwam”. Explore the modern 1960s architectural wonder of Paddy’s Wigwam, as well as its 1930s addition from the original design, Lutyen’s Crypt.

Next, saunter down Hope Street and soak in the beauty of the Georgian Quarter. While you’re here, why not stop at the Philharmonic Dining Rooms for a glance of the ornate décor, and perhaps even the men’s toilets…

Finally, at the other end of Hope Street, you will find the Liverpool Cathedral or Anglican Cathedral - the largest in the country, and fifth largest in the world! In here, the ethereal surroundings of stained glass and Tracy Emin neon light will leave you truly breathless.

Added bonus: you get a free glass of bubbly (no strings attached) at the Philharmonic Dining Rooms with your bus tickets!

15:58 Back to the Royal Albert Dock for a different view of Liverpool

Catch the big red bus back to the Royal Albert Dock and ride the Wheel of Liverpool. Each gondola features commentary that provides an insight into the city’s landmarks - “every turn has a story”!

Added bonus: you get a discounted price for the Wheel if you book with Liverpool City Sights!
